Giving Back to Our Community
Giving Back
Giving back to the communities we serve is fundamental to our Fidelity team. We like to give of our time and profits to local organizations we know personally, professionally, as well as non-profits to whom we are introduced by our clients. We invite you to partner with us in giving back to our communities.
Through our ongoing client referral program, you have a few opportunities to make a difference with us. When you refer a friend, family member or colleague to Fidelity Insurance Service, you are giving us a sincere compliment and to show our appreciation, we make a $10 donation in your name to The Nature Conservancy. We also enter you into a monthly drawing - the winner selecting a charity of their choice for whom we donate $100, also in their name. Past recipients include Regional Parks Foundation, Berkeley's grassroots We Bee Gardeners, Oakland-based Urban Mentors and Bentley School, Halleck Creek Ranch, Center for Gender & Refugee Studies, Close up Foundation, San Francisco-based Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts and Bay Area-based Rookie Moms.
We also like to partner up with and support our non-profit clients through special events. Most recently we 'championed' Bay Area Outreach & Recreation Program's 2019 Hall of Fame Awards & Celebration at the universally-designed, transit-oriented Ed Roberts Campus, as well as supported the Center for Independent Living's Ed Robert Awards. In the Fall of 2017, we celebrated our office dog's birthday, Lucy, over dog treats and a request to Like her video with Fidelity donating $1 for every 'like' to the organization from which Erik and Briana adopted Lucy - the Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS). We continue ongoing support for the FAAS's annual After the Ball fundraiser. Other events receiving our past support include The Berkeley Youth Alternative's Day at the Races, GiveTeens20 All in White nights and Bay Area Outreach & Recreation Program's (BORP) Revolution Ride & Festival.
We wrap up each year with a holiday drive where we collect donations for a local charity, seeking donations both from the Fidelity team and our clients and vendors. Past recipients include the Berkeley Youth Engagement Advocacy Housing (youth homeless shelter), MISSEY (Motivating, Inspiring, Supporting & Serving Sexually Exploited Youth, and Friends of the Alameda County Animal Shelter. Stay tuned to see who our 2019 holiday drive will benefit!
And finally, we love to roll up our sleeves and give the priceless gift of time whenever we can! Erik currently chairs the Board of Directors of Drivers for Survivors, an organization supporting cancer patients. Our Personal Lines Specialists, Marian and Nancy, have long participated in the Relay for Life of East Shore benefiting the American Cancer Society. Each year Marian and Nancy fundraise with a Meatloaf Dinner and walk the walk the day of the actual event. In 2017, Fidelity joined in with support, sponsoring their dinner. Felicia has long volunteered through PTA across Contra Costa County, advocating at the school district, state and federal levels in bettering the lives of every child. She currently focuses her energy in the local Berkeley community serving on the Leadership East Bay Alumni Council and coordinating her church congregation in the annual CROP Walk in Downtown Berkeley benefiting local homeless programs.
